exFat allows you to be able to use it on both Mac and PC and it allows you to have files larger than 4 GB...as for how many items of each, well that's debatable since there is no set size limit for pictures or movies or music (i.e. it depends on the size of the files).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It depends on what size you have, If you are using with MacBook then you don’t need to format it. If you are using windows computer then you can format it it NTFS
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No reason to change from ExFAT to NTFS. ExFAT will work on both PCs and Mac equally well for video files and photos. Even video files bigger than 4GB will work fine with ExFAT.
