This is a response to an old question, but more of a response to the other person who answered, his answer is false. I run a 240gb PNY SSD on my xbox one and it works great, i use it for PUBG loading times and it also DRASTICALLY reduces load times for Destiny 2. So if anyone comes across this, a 240gb will work perfectly fine for games with the Xbox one.

If a drive of smaller capacity is connected to your Xbox one, it will only recognize it as a drive that can store media (i.e. movies, music, pictures) I personally use a 120 GB SSD and can only use for media. This drive is smaller than 256 gb, therefore can only be used for media on XBONE, no games...
