A:Answer PNY is an established retail brand that was a mainstay in the memory chip market, even before Sandisk entered. PNY has been one of the most common memory-stick vendors over the years, and their memory-sticks were readily available in stores when CompUSA and EggHead Software were brick-and-mortar stores in most major U.S. cities (yeah, that long ago).
To the best of my memory, PNY is STILL an American company.
