Save your document to your one drive. Open it from your one drive on your iPad. Once it's set up its easy. Kind of. It assumes you don't use google or iCloud for your cloud hosting. It also assumes you have no organization set up already that makes sense to you and is easy for you to use. But hey, it's personal computing, why should your experience be more important than the brands you're using?
