Solid state drives (SSDs) are best used for operating system and application files where being able to read/write from/to those files makes your system perform significantly better than it would when using a traditional platter-based hard drive. You wouldn't see much benefit from putting files that don't change frequently (i.e. pictures/movies/music) on an SSD with the exception of videos/photos that you are in the middle of editing. Since SSDs typically are much smaller than traditional platter drives people tend to keep a platter drive available as well (either internally or externally) to store large media files.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I just saw your message. The SSD is slightly thinner than a std Laptop drive so there is a piece of plastic that is used to make the SSD drive be the same thickness as a standard laptop drive and I believe there are a set of instructions. Since I have been using the EZ GIG tool to clone the drive, I have not checked out the instruction sheet recently. I beleive that you have to got to the SanDisk web site to down load the software by I'm not sure of that. Good luck, I have used the devices in HP, Dell and systems that I have created using ASUS motherboards and have never found a problem with them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use my SSD primarily for the operating software and some programs I use regularly so they load quickly. I have a secondary/slave drive ( 1 TB Western Digital ) that I use for the rest of my programs. I love the SSD because it loads my operating software so quickly! It comes with basic instructions but no cables. I used the same cables from my previous SSD, so it was an easy hook up/exchange.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The hard drive can save any type of media or other files and it does come with instructions. If you are not that familiar with computers it is best to get it professionally installed.
