It is a 9.5mm with an attachable plastic spacer that makes it 12.5mm. So, yes, it should be fine in your Thinkpad.

There should be some anti-vibration rails and it will fit a bit loose because they're made for 9mm tall drives, but I got mine in just fine. The drive will just pair up to the SATA connectors and it won't go anywhere else. Been walking around with mine for over a month now with 0 issues
