I think you can use any hard drive, but you must pay a higher for Samsung.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The samsung one might have a little bit faster read/write speeds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends what kind of ssd you are comparing here. Sandisk Ultra are pretty good drives and a cheaper but if you decided to go with a Samsung Evo Pro you definitely will see a different against the ultra.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well, I have both, the quality and chance of being defective from factory are almost the same, the Samsung runs smoother in some way, but in general, you will feel that the speed is almost the same, regardless of the numbers in the specs sheet. In my case, I prefer faster writing for Pro Audio, but there's no big difference between them. SSD is here to stay, and both are pretty good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you will notice a difference. Keep in mind, you're paying more for a Samsung SSD because they do perform better and have an awesome track record. I have both this SanDisk SSD and a Samsung 840 Pro 256gb, and the SanDisk is about 85% as fast as the Samsung according to benchmarks I've ran. For the price though, it's definitely worth it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Realistically NO. There may be a fraction of a difference between brands and models but it would likely be unnoticeable to any user. It would be the difference between driving 1000mph or 1001mph. It is more about what brand you trust and has a history of reliability.
