This is an awesome budget SSD. I replaced a Seagate 7200 HD and it performs better than I expected. You will need to buy 2 cables that aren't included but it's less than 10 bucks total. Also get a high quality high speed sata cable (not from Best Buy)(step your game up for us custom builders BB ;) ). If you don't want to buy an ssd mount you can use velcro to attach it wherever you want and it works great. I did a fresh windows 8.1 install and it boots and is ready to go in seconds. I am a gamer so I put the OS and a few of my main games on the SSD and everything else on the 1 tb drive with no issues. I'm happy with the buy and how little I spent for such a nice performance boost.

If you are looking for an easy and cheap way to speed up your computer this is the way to do it. I got it for $65 on sale it may not be a Samsung 850 pro but it is definitely a better value at this price. It feels a little cheaper than I thought it would but I've been using it for a few months and it works great.

My Dell XPS M1530 went from good to great because of this ssd. I like the three year warranty(SanDisk) and SanDisk support is great at helping with info on installing in, installing os and registering.
I used to have to wait close to a minute before seeing the windows sign in now right after I power on it is there. Easy install of ssd and os.
I had windows vista ultimate on the laptop and choose to install windows 7 everything is more responsive. No more slow laptop.

These drives are great! Adds new life to any computer. There are a number of SSD competitors at this price point, but the Sandisk ones have been the most reliable in my experience. I've replaced the mechanical drives in 4 Macbook and Macbook Pro laptops, 5 iMacs and they all just work exactly as expected with GREAT performance gains over the standard hard drive.

I've done hard drive upgrades before, so installation was easy and straightforward. The included spacer helps keep 7mm thick drive in place where a 9.5mm drive is expected.
Faster startup and shutdown times. Faster access to applications and document load times reduced.
A nice addition would have been drive cloning/partitioning software. Unfortunately, you need to have these beforehand.
Overall, a cost effective upgrade to an older laptop.

This is practically the cheapest 240g ssd you can buy. The fact that it's this cheap and it's still like 10x better than my old HDD is impressive. I included a screenshot of the speeds I was getting

Though this SDD doesn't have the writing speed of other upper-end Solid States (which may explain it's cheaper pricing), the read speed is on par and gives you the performance you would expect from a solid state. Installation was as easy as plug in and go. I had no problems installing Windows 8.1. Boot-up is about 10 seconds and all my applications installed on my Sandisk opens quickly and runs smoothly. I've had this SSD for about 3 months now and it still works the same as when I took it out of the box. Good for anyone who's just looking to greatly upgrade their PC and is on a budget. 5/5

I bought this drive several weeks ago because it was at a good price and I wanted to have it on hand if and when needed instead of having to order or make a trip for one. It lay in the drawer for for near a month then I bought a new Toshiba Radius computer. Ran the computer a few days then cloned the drive to this SanDisk SSD and installed it in the computer. What a nice kick in performance! Boot time faster, right at 8-10 seconds, programs open and run faster and easier, little or no fan noise now and obliously no HD noise. A very inexensive way to soup up any desktop or laptop that doesn't already feature a SSD. Easy to install, no setup except to put the OS and/or files on. Get instant noticable improvement in overall performance, I would do this first before ever thinkin gof adding more ram. In another laptop I have, the computer came with 4 GB of ram, I doubled that to 8 GB thinking that would help speed things up, it helped with running programs but no noticable difference other wise, later put a SanDisk SSD in and it was immediate gradification. FAST-FAST-FAST. I have three computers, all have been changed over to SSD drives, no more HDDs for me.

Fast and compatible way to upgrade PC

The Sandisk 240GB SSD is a fast, compatible device that you can use to speed up the start-up time, get faster access to programs and even shut down your pc faster. Keep in mind that the prices of these gadgets are dropping as bigger capacities become available, so it becomes a balancing act to decide which size and price to choose right now. For me, the $80 to $100 range is optimal for getting the 240GB ssd that is adequate for my needs, but other users may want higher capacity and faster read/write speeds (at a higher price). Also, these ssd drives are not direct substitutes for your present hdd if you already use up more than their capacity, so splitting the tasks of running operating system/programs and storing data is something you have to acquaint yourself with by installing system files and often-used programs on the ssd for speed and leaving data files and less-frequently used programs on the hdd for greater storage capacity. There is another reason for storing your data on an hdd, and that is the nature of the ssd: The memory cells in an ssd can fail suddenly and without warning, so unlike the hdd which usually gives some forewarning of breakdown, you can instantly lose the data on your ssd. The reliability of ssd's is tested by the manufacturers and can be expected to last thousands of hours, but until there is some way to foretell the impending failure of these new devices, wouldn't you prefer to rely on a tried and true hdd to store your precious data?

I bought this SSD drive to use as the primary hd on my kids computer. Since we don't store any music, photos, or movies on this computer, 240 GB is more than enough space. Installed easily and computer boots up quickly and runs great.
You do need to buy mounting brackets separately. The BB store I bought this from did not sell any so I currently have the drive just laying in the bottom of the hd cage. Should be fine there and good enough for the kids computer.

Boots up to my login on Windows 10 in 15 seconds. The benchmark I ran shows it reads at 261.5 MB/s and writes at at 320 MB/s. I paid 69.99 and could not be happier after my last SSD crashed on me.

Drive is easy to install and it works without any problems so far. Have had it for a month. It has increased the boot up speed and other applications on my old (4-5 yr old) Lenovo thinkpad laptop. So far so good. Glad to have purchased it at such a great price from Best Buy.

I got this to eliminate issues I was having with my old HDD. The install was flawless, and the drive has operated perfectly since. PC is quicker on the boot as well. Which is expected. I would well recommend this to anyone looking for a boot drive solution.

I purchased a 240 GB Sandisk SSD Plus and a 240 GB Sandisk Ultra II in October 2015. I cloned the existing disk in my Windows 10 laptop to both SSD's. They both booted up in about 7 or 8 seconds, I could not distinguish a difference. My laptop is a Lenovo W530 Thinkpad with an internal 16 GB mSata Solid State Cache Drive. I don't think the Ultra II no-wait boot up makes a difference when the cloned disks are used in my laptop. With both Sandisk SSD's the startup is much, much faster than it was when I had Windows 8.1 on my laptop. I have not tested transfer speeds when copying data to the SSD's, but I think the speeds are comparable to other SSD's in the 240 GB range.

I installed this on my MacBook Pro 2011. The installation is super easy as long as you have the right screwdrivers and follow an online guide. This really turned my Mac into a speedy machine. 10 second boot ups!

I purchased this SSD to speed up my old MacBook Pro (Mid 2010). Mission complete! This upgrade made it run better than new. I also like that it's silent and the battery life also seems to have improved.
