• Hi Frankie, please be informed that we have not tested using the NVMe SSD Drives with adapters on a motherboard. Therefore, we would suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the Adapter to know if it would support the NVMe SSD Drive.

• Sorry, I confused you with another question for a USB External adapter. Your question is very confusing. "allow use on a PCI e x16 Gen 3 motherboard?" by Frankie is okay. All the rest of top of the line isn't.
