Yes it is. I've replaced the HDD in all my desktops with this SSD and it works and performs great. For mass storage, I also use an internal 1TB HDD data an the Sandisk SSD for the OS and programs.

Yes with an adapter you can use this in a desktop computer.

It is, just installed it as a boot drive. I installed mine on a desktop and just have all my user libraries on a regular sata and just did some mapping and it works great. Good luck.

Yes, these SSD drives can be used in a desktop. I recommend using an adapter tray (Best Buy carries several models) that will allow mounting the drive in place of a standard 3.5” hard drive.
