“As someone who does not know much about this, can this be plugged into an iphone x and have the photos and/or music transferred directly to it. I'm trying to find something for my daughter, as she keeps filling up all of her space and can't update.”

No, the SanDisk® Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB 3.1 128GB is not compatible with the Apple iPhone X as this drive comes with USB Type C connector. However, we manufacture separate drives for iOS devices i.e iXpand Flash Drives.
