If you are currently on a standard 5400 rpm hard drive, I would be shocked if you didn't experience significant performance improvement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The overall speed of a computer is a combination of processor, RAM, hard drive (for memory swapping), and software. If you replace one of those components with a faster version, you will see a speed increase. However, the boost may be negligible on older hardware.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will almost certainly boot up and open files and programs faster. However, with only 4gb of memory it isn't going to allow you to run more programs at once without slowing down

The hard drive in your computer is a spinning disk that stores all your data and programs. It takes time to spin up and read this data. When you open a program the drive has to spin up and find the program. The program is then copied into RAM until you close the program because RAM (like a Solid State) is much faster than a hard drive, If it were not for RAM your programs would run off the hard drive the whole time and be really slow. This is why when you first open a program it takes a few second but when it is open the speed it good. A solid state drive stores data on a flash memory chip instead of a spinning disk. This makes the drive much faster and more reliable. It will make your PC boot up faster and all your programs will open up almost instantly!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will, it should improve overall performance of your system with memory "seek time" being flash storage vs. a 5400 or 7200rpm regular hard drive. -Source 12 years in IT :)
