Without a specific model number this is what I found: The latest Inspiron 7000 comes with a M.2 SSD and possibly a regular laptop hard drive. You can go to Control Panel - Hardware - Device Manager - Disk Drives to see what you have. An M.2 model should have M.2 in the description. * You cannot replace the M.2 SSD with this SSD. An M.2 is a small DIMM memory-sized unit that plugs directly into the motherboard. * You could replace the 2.5" hard drive with this SSD. This would require an external USB drive holder in order to transfer all data over before installation. * If your unit could have had a 2.5" drive but you chose not to, then there is most likely room & SATA cabling to plug it in. * Doubtful otherwise there's either space or SATA plugs to add this as an additional drive.
