“I have a Sony Z9G 85 inches. I want to mount the tv over my fireplace but with bookshelves flanking the space will require the TV to be pulled out 13 inches for clearance. The TV weighs 158lbs. Will the Sanus-Elite mount support it long term?”

Yes being the max weight rating is 175lb, the rating is always taken while pulled fully out. Most important thing is that your in studs 16 in on center. Ive installed many of these mounts for my customers and to be honest the 175lb rating is actually dumbed down for construction, environment, reasons. In actuality it could probably hold 200 and some change. The mount it self is made out of mild steel and built like workout equipment.
