“How far do the studs need to be apart and how many studs can you attach it to? WI have studs 16” apart with one centered in the wall, so I would like a mount where I can put bolts on the center stud and the two outer studs, that way it can be centered”

Metal frame is expandable and allows for you to anchor into studs spaced > 24”. And will accommodate those in between 12-16”. It allows for you to use studs to anchor into rather than compromising and doing “drywall screws.”
