• I don't think this mount is recommended to be installed on drywall unless there are wood or metal studs behind the drywall for mounting bolts to attach.

• Yes, it should attach to the back of TV no problem. We used it for a 60” LG that about 4 years old that weighs about 50 lbs. our new Samsung was lighter than that. Be sure to attach to STUDS in drywall.
