“I have the Sanus BLT2 mount on outdoor patio. I can't find a TV cover that will encase entire TV due to double brackets. Would like to replace it with this model. Can I use the existing BLT2's wall plate? Don't want to drill new holes in the rock/stone.”

You would be real lucky if the mount can reuse existing holes. Best to buy a masonary bit and plan to reuse only one or two holes.
