“Studs are *about* 24" apart, what is the max width that this mount can accommodate? I'd prefer something that extends a little farther than 24" if possible, just in the event the studs are a little farther apart.”

Hi Tom, Thanks for the question. The wallplates length is 33" but is max-width for drilling into studs is 24". It might allow a little bit more than 24" but it won't be much if it does as it is not made for studs larger than 24" apart. Thanks, - Haydn @ SANUS
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There are two sets of three gaps for putting in the bolts. If you measure from the very edge of the gaps on opposite ends, it is 26 inches wide. If you say you have 24 inch studs, then this will work with the possibility if it is a bit more than 24 inches. I mounted 75 inch TV with mine.
