QuestionCan you add an additional monitor to this hub? If I plug in a HDMI Adapter or VGA Adapter to a lighting port on the hub, would I be able to add another monitor?

- Answer Hi Brett! Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, the "lightning" port is a USB-C PD (Power Delivery) port and is meant to connect a USB-C power adapter to charge your host computer. The adapter features two HDMI ports, which you can use HDMI-to-HDMI cable in one port and a HDMI-to-VGA cable in the other. Also, keep in mind that you would need to install Silicon Motion's Instant View in order for the second HDMI port on the adapter to function.

QuestionWill this support 2 external displays at different resolutions? One at 1080p to mirror my HP laptop, and another at 4k?

- Answer I have a 1080P display and a 2K display if that’s any help. Not sure about 1080 and 4k though.

- Answer I bought it for use with a 13” Mac Air and it was only useful for connecting one thing at a time. For that usage there are cheaper options.

QuestionDell laptop, this Satechi docking station, HP monitor & Samsung monitor which have all been working fine for almost 2 yrs until recently. Now I constantly battle being able to detect the Samsung monitor. Have tried new hdmi cable. How do I fix this?

QuestionIt appears this product requires a software download on a MacBook Pro and requires screen recording to be turned on. Does that sound correct and if so, are there privacy concerns to take into consideration?

- Answer We can confirm that this is normal. Rest assured, no one is actually viewing/recording your screen. The message you are receiving is the application confirming detection from the hub to your 2 external monitors (this is through the firmware Silicone Motion)

- Answer Yes, you will be able to use an external hard drive for data transfer through the USB-C data port. (up to 5 Gbps) The other USB-C port on the adapter will only support passthrough charging and will not support data transfer

QuestionDoes this hub allow an hdmi connected monitor to be set vertically? I've purchased numerous hubs and dongles to which I ended up returning because it wouldn't allow me to set the display of my external monitor to 90 degrees. (FYI using a MBP 2018).

- Answer One monitor can portrait through this device. One monitor can portrait through a port on the laptop. The additional HDMI port will not allow it. (Don't know about MBP2018 specifically, I'm on 2020 MBP M1

- Answer Hello, yes this adapter will support up to 2 extended displays, you will need to download the silicon motion software to activate the second HDMI port (1x 4K @ 60Hz and 1x 4K @ 30Hz)
