Yes you have to wait for the green light before starting your car. Hold the boost button until you see the green light come on. Green light should automatically come on after you hook it up to the battery. Just follow the instructions and you’ll be fine.

Please try again later.Section C of the instruction manual indicates to press and hold the "Boost" button for approximately 3 seconds until the green indicator light on the jump starter illuminates. Once the green indicator light illuminates, you can attempt to jump start your vehicle. You do not have to continue holding the "Boost" button.
