I am not familiar with a Satellite L55-A5226. Having said that, if the Satellite L55-A5226 currently holds a hard drive it is probably a standard 3.5. Installing a SSD in the same location will require an adapter since the SSD is 2.5. A 5400 rpm is very slow my todays standards and are usually found in many lower end laptops. 5400 rpm hard drives also have the traditional moving parts and cause substantial heat. An SSD has no moving parts much less heat and is extremely fast by comparison. I hope this answers your questions and helps in your decision.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This will work perfectly in your laptop, I would definitely recommend it to vastly improve the performance of your laptop. I own a computer shop and recommend these to all of my customers who want to improve the performance of their PC. Since they are Solid State, they do not generate rpm's as a normal hard drive does, so they give you much faster data rates, thus improving your PC's performance!
