• You should use the disks that came with your Dell. If you don't have them, ask around. Lot of people have Dells. Most Dells do not have a restore option. Just do the re-install and use the license stuck on the side of your Dell.

• Your Barracuda 500GB Internal Hard Drive for Desktops comes with no information stored on the drive from the factory. You should be able to use your Windows installation disk to setup the drive. We would not have any information on restore options using Dell software. Your best bet on that would be to contact Dell support.

• Yes, if you have the recovery media, you can use it to reinstall Windows on this drive. As for the restore option, it is built into Windows no matter what brand of computer you have.

• Any restore options the machine had will leave with the old hard drive. You you need a windows disc or a factory restore disc.
