• Yes its compatible with Chromebook, and no, you dont have to do anything in the cloud. With Seagate products, its always sunny my friend. Highly recommended!

• This will work with a Chromebook because it connects via the USB port. You won't have an issue with it.

• If you have a USB slot on you Chrome book you should be able to save files in the same way you save to the internal hard drive with no need to use the cloud.
