Yes. There is a white light that flashes when the drive is being accessed in the upper left hand corner. You can see it in the photo unlit. It flashes just like your HD light on your tower or laptop when it is accessed.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.To my knowledge the light should be on when it is connected to your computer and backing up files. It is a very small / thin light on the top. I sometimes have to disconnect and re-connect it a couple of times before the light comes on.
