“If I use the Backup and Restore feature in WIN-7, and create a System Image, can I backup that to this Seagate HD? I desire to save an Image and then separately, backup the individual files. 1TB of capacity is enough. Will this work?”

This drive will work fine for a system image backup. I keep my system files in one (C)partition and my data on a separate (F)Partition this makes it much easier to manage both system backup and data backup.
