• A:Answer works as advertised only for MAC OS 10.9 or greater. With my OS 10.6.8 I am able to use it to store data after reformatting, but the software that enables MAC-windows sharing doesn't work.

• A:Answer This can do the job, as long as your files don't exceed the size limitations of the drive you're buying. If you use the Windows 7 backup and restore program on Windows 7, you can still run that same program in Windows 10 to restore all you files to where they go. I've done it recently and it was very smooth and easy. In Windows 10, just make sure you use the "Windows 7 backup and restore" program. The Windows 10 backup software is differnet.
