Depends on router. First it needs a usb port with data sharing support. It is a pnp capable drive, but you would need to verify the router will work with a hard drive, especially one of this size. You could always share it off your desktop and backup your files on all devices regardless of router support.

Don't forget your security, password protect the drive mapping or your whole neighborhood will also have access.
