• It should work okay. It will only be as fast as USB 2.0 allows. It does not require power on the USB port since it is powered by an AC power adapter.

• Yes, it works with USB2, although at a slower transfer rate. Since this drive is a full size 3.5 inch desktop style drive, with a 12 volt power requirement it needs an external power supply which is included with the drive. No bus powered option unless you get the seagate 4TB portable 2.5 inch form factor drive.

• Yes it is simple to use and for a second copy of my photos and videos it has been a life saver. You do need to plug it in to an outlet.
