• Little to no noise when backing up or transferring files. Super fast if you have a USB 3.0 port to connect to.

• Virtually silent. noise isn't really a factor with external hard drives.

• No, the noise is exactly the same. Both whisper quiet but a "ramp up" noise when you wake it up from slumber. But not loud.

• personally i think the noise level of 5 is very low. when i move stuff from my pc to 5tb, i hardly don't hear anything. nothing like my sad, but it is very low.
