If your computer can run Win XP SP3, then yes. If it does then the best thing to do is to buy a USB 3.0 card with it. The speed is so much faster with large amount of data.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. This hard drive is USB 3.0, but is backward compatible all the way to USB 1.0, though it will certainly transfer much more slowly that way. The drive comes with Seagate Backup software which can automate the transfer of data to the drive and allows for password protection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an older Dell that I upgraded memory/OS. It works with 2.0 USB ports fine. I haven't seen any latency on data transfers. I moved my entire hard drive's worth of data, pics, videos off to this hard drive and worked great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The drive is USB 3.0 and the older USB 2.0 compatible! Meaning it will work on any USB ports. It comes with software for security features.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First, Yes its backwards compatible. second, No hard drives normally do not have password protection only thumb drives, you can get free software online that can do this for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This drive will be backwards compatible with USB 2.0 without issue. You'll just experience slower speeds than what might be advertised, etc. I have not explored password protecting/encrypting my dive so I cannot speak to that part of your question.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
