“What if any security is there? I need to be able to lock it down or at least protect the data that is on the drive.”

• With the included software, you can encrypt the data on the drive completely, or piecemeal. It's fairly easy to set up. I believe you can even make it so a person can't even see how much of what kind of files are on the drive, without knowing the proper passwords.

• There is no hardware security. You'd have to encrypt the drive using software, or an encrypted filesystem.

• I personally use Bit locker it comes with Windows 7 & up. Just make sure you keep the recovery key on a separate drive. Don't use the button encrypt the whole drive, just keep the default of encrypt what is already in use

• It can be encrypted with most standard programs and I think Windows even has a built in mechanic for that.
