It can certainly be used to backup your laptop. Keep in mind that it has a power adapter though and would need to be plugged in.

Please try again later.yes absolutely as long as you are given the option to transfer files to external storage which on your laptop is of course an option. hope this helps. note...transfer files from tablet to laptop and use the laptop to connect to the storage. should save time and confusion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would say yes to the tablet, though I don't have one. I do however use it to back up all my laptops and the only annoying thing about it, keeping the laptop close to plug it in. If that's not a worry, then it would be fine for you.

Please try again later.The size and weight of the drive fall outside of your typical 'portable drive', however it WILL work with laptop or tablet computers capable of recognizing large capacity drives. Please note however, that the drive's shell is made of molded plastic, with sharp edges and corners. Not enough to cut yourself, but rather uncomfortable to hold or travel with. This drive is definitely meant to sit on a desk and stay there.
