I run both Apple and Windows machines in my home network. I have connected to the drive using Xp, W7 and W8 machines without any issues. I have the Seagate connected to a USB 3.0 port on my Linksys NAS. I also use it primarily for pics and video storage.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Windows 98 will not be compatible with the NTFS format that the hard drive comes in. You might have some issues with XP since it is no longer supported, and drivers might not install correctly.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Win98 and XP may be questionable (due to the large drive size, which these OSes weren't coded to handle) but Vista and 8 will have no problems sharing the drive whatsoever (I routinely swap between several Vista machines and my 8 laptop).
