I'm guessing at this but I don't see why it can't be used on Windows xp I don't install software on my computer with this hard drive and it still works I say yes but if it doesn't work you can always return it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This drive is not compatible with Windows XP 32-bit. You can still reformat the drive with an MBR from Windows XP and use the first 2TB of disk space. There are software utilities and drivers out there that allow Windows XP to use GPT disks which will allow XP to access all 8TB of space, but you'll have to find them on your own as I've never had to use one and I don't even know if they're freeware or commercial products.
