Does this hard drive arrive unformatted? Thanks. null

It's fully formatted, and was a seamless installation to a Mac for me. Absolutely fuss-free. I assume you could reformat it with Mac software if you have some specific need.

It arrives formatted for Mac. Mac's Disk Utility makes it easy to reformat it if you choose to.

The drive is fomated for Mac and time machine ready.

Mine came formatted and ready to use for my windows laptop. Just plug in and windows options appear.

No formatting necessary for Mac
