As long as your MacBook supports USB2 or USB3 then, yes. I used it on my iMac with Time Machine and it worked great. I used the Mac disk utility to format it using Mac OS Extended Journaled. Had it a week and am very pleased. I've have many Seagate brand drives connected to Macintosh computers with only one drive returned years ago and both Best Buy and Seagate have good return and warranty policies.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, as long as your MacBook has a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 jack. If you only have the newer USB-c jack, you will need a USB-c to USB 3.0 adapter. The drive is formatted for use with a PC but comes with software you can install on your MB to make it fully Mac compatible (or if you're familiar with the Disk Utility app on your MB, you can reformat the drive to native Mac format).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I see no reason you could not format this on a Mac OS, though it comes formated for Windows.
