You can do either. They have a cloud feature available. Just select the drive to keep it local.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is an actual hard-drive, so no it does not use Dropbox for storage, it IS LOCAL storage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This product is compatible with such services, but does not use one without setting it up. This is just an external drive that runs locally via a USB 3.0 connection. Since you want local storage, this would fit the bill nicely.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to use drop box with it, but I only use it for external storage..no cloud or drop box
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It shouldn't unless you format it that way. With Windows, You just plug it in and can save things to it right away, as an additional drive. I think for Mac (or for both) you have to format it a little differently, but it should work similarly as any drive. Dropbox is software. I'm sure you can use Dropbox to save on there, but it is definitely not a requirement (at least with Windows).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It uses the drive, itself. There is the ability to utilize cloud services, too, using their backup software, but they're optional.
