• No, it won't. I had the same problem with my Mac OSX 10.6.8. Despite the online info saying it is compatible with timemachine, it only works with Mac OSX 10.9 or greater, which it did NOT say anywhere online. (On the package of the device itself, it does say in very small print that it's only compatible with Mac OSX 10.9 or greater.)
