QuestionMy intent is to use this as a backup for my desktop which has both a solid state and a hard drive. Will it back up both drives, and if so do any special settings or provisions have to be made to perform automatic backups? Thank you.

- Answer I use it as the same. I my laptop has solid state as it's primary and a disc drive as the secondary. I have been able to just use it plug n play and copy file from both the solid state and the disc drive to the external drive. So far I have not encountered any issue

- Answer Yes. But the external hard drive has to be partitioned. No big deal. The Seagate tech people can guide you through it. It's quite easy to do.
