Hello jie, The Seagate Expansion Portable drives are USB powered 500mA, it means that they don't use any other source to power on that the USB cable which connects the drive to the computer. The USB 3.0 cable is backward compatible with USB 2.0 port. If your Thinkpad X200 has USB 2.0 port, they should power this drive, but we suggest to contact Lenovo for more accurate compatibility information. Regards, Zac Seagate Support
