No. This is a typical plastic cased hard drive. I would avoid dropping it.

Please try again later.I have only owned this one for a while but did break my last one by it merely sliding off a desk onto a floor so no... it is not super durable but does a great job for the price. Also just a tip to always have power cord plugged in when using it with a laptop. If you run on battery power only... you run the risk of the drive freezing due to low power. I had it happen on my old WD backup drive and now always make sure to have charger plugged into my laptop before I do a backup.
