“If I used this on my MacBook first does that mean it will not work on a PC? I'm having trouble recognizing it on our PC to do a backup.”

• One other option would be to have 2 separate partitions. One journaled for your macbook and one NTFS or something for your windows machine.

• Depends on how you format it. If you did not reformat it using your macbook, it should work fine. I don't think windows will read a Journaled drive though.
