are these addition storage to add onto the existing ps5 drive (second drive) or is it to replace the stock drive? When i upgraded my ps4 pro on day 1 i had to backup original drive and swap it with a samsung 970 ssd. Big increase for what it is null

You have an expansion slot under the shell of the PS5 which it ADDS to the EXISTING storage, you can use it for PS5 games and it’ll act like internal storage. It’s easy to install and this is an excellent drive for that. So if you have a 1TB PS5 if you buy a 1TB SSD you’ll have a TOTAL of 2TB.

It's an add-on. There is a slot inside your PS5 side plate that this fits into. Go and Youtube and search up "PS5 SSD expansion tutorial" and pick a video to follow. Have fun!

P.s. It's super simple and takes minutes. The hardest part is putting the side plates back on.
