“When you store PS5 games into this, do you have to install the game back onto the PS5's internal hard drive to play it or can you just play it off of the e-hard drive itself?”

Your going to have to transfer it back to back with PS5. Cannot play from the drive itself. You CAN PLAY with PS4 games from the drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Off the Hard drive itself. Always go to settings and safetly remove from ps5 or ps4 before pulling it from the systems usb. You can lose all your games if you dont. Good thing is you can take the hard drive and plug it into another system of yours to play games off of it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No you don’t once it’s on the external hard drive you don’t have to re-download it on the ssd but I don’t think that you can have a ps5 game on a external hard drive yet only ps4 games
