My hp ENVY hard drive died, will this drive work??? null

WD Passport is an external hard drive. You could conceivable run a laptop off it but I would strongly encourage you to replace your hard drive--either by contacting HP or by using Best Buy's Geek Squad folks--and then get a WD Passport to have backups. WD makes it easy to schedule backups of your computer so you won't face the horror of losing everything on your hard drive and NOT having a back up. I back my Spectre up every month.
