SSD is the newer technology and much faster. You should buy a SSD drive from Best Buy. • Not positive. The 430 has the same SATA connector but some Lenovos require the thinner 7mm size. A generic drive is usually 9mm thick. A 7mm drive will work to replace a 9mm drive, but not vice versa. I tossed out the box so I am not sure of the specs. Check the Seagate website. The swap is actually pretty easy.

• Should work fine as long as you have a usb 2.0 or a usb 3.0 port. A usb 3.0 port would make it faster, if you have one.
