This product is a miniature, all-digital, strictly plug-and-play retro console. It is about half the size of the original model one Sega Genesis, and I do not believe that original Sega Genesis carts would fit even if it did have a functioning cartridge drive, which I doubt that it does. This is designed to be a 40 game nostalgic tribute/miniature replica of the Sega Genesis. It's main appeal and value is that the included selection of games outputs in HDMI to suit modern televisions, monitors, or displays, it includes 2 USB Sega Genesis controllers, it's small form factor, it's authentic retro/nostalgic branding, and that it is indeed going to be manufactured by Sega. If you are searching for a modern solution for playing original Sega Genesis carts, I suggest the Analogue Mega SG.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. But it has 42 games now instead of 40 look at their web page or on Sega FB page for complete list of titles
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No they cannot. The games are programmed onto this plug and play. The cartridge slot does have working doors on it (you can open them) but they are merely just for show/nostalgia. Plus the cartridge slot is much smaller than the original.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They cannot, and won’t be playable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No cartridge slot on system games are preinstalled so no.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The trick is put a working Sega on top and then insert the cart into and you should be sound as a pound
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Sega mini and I'm able to play original Sega games on it. Looking at the provided images, this system looks to be bigger than the original mini that came out a few years ago. Also, it does have a cartridge slot as well.
