“When I get up in the middle of the night and walk into the room, it lights up. I don't see anywhere that says this is motion activated. I don't want it to come on with motion. How do I stop it from coming on without asking Alexa to turn it on?”

This is not a sengled setting, but rather an Alexa setting. Go in your Alexa app, choose your Amazon device that you talk to for controlling the lights, Go to settings and turn off ultrasound motion detection
