“Can I use this on my laptop for zoom type calls? Do they connect in the USB port?”

• The USB is only for charging; for audio you can either use Bluetooth and everything will work, or use an old style audio jack (not all laptops have these anymore) and they will work as headphones, you'd use the microphone built into your laptop if it has one.
