• yes or you need a 3.5m to iphone dongle (i believe its larger than the base dongle)

• You really do...while you can technically connect them to an iphone and they will work (I've connected them to my iPhone 13), it simply won't do the headphones justice. The volume won't get very high and in my opinion, you will get much better sound from the $400 Bose or Sony Bluetooth headphones, which is what the iPhones are made for.
